Wooden Water Craft
Restoration of Wooden Boats or Other Wooden Products

An ideal course for anyone who owns a wooden water-craft or other wooden object that is exposed to the elements (i.e. outdoor furniture, wooden trailers, wet-bar counters). During this course we will discuss the methods used to repair or replace wood that has been weakened by rot. Hands on work during the course will include stiffening some rotten wood using some of the various methods.
Cedar Strip - Part 1, Construction Techniques

The Cedar Strip course was designed to suit both the interested novice and someone who is actively working to create a cedar strip craft. Best practices and methods will be covered as well as the basic and intricate steps involved in this type of construction. In this course we will discuss the three most common ways to build boats planes or other structures. Attendees will have the opportunity to fabricate a miniature sample of each type of construction and apply some planking.
Cedar Strip - Part 2, Finishing Materials
(3 hours 6:30 to 9:30 pm)
Cost $60.00 materials and GST included
Part Two of Cedar Strip Construction and Finishing will begin with planking a frame proceed to making joints and covering with fiberglass and epoxy. Hands on work will include covering sample ply and strip pieces with fiberglass and epoxy.
Stich & Glue - Part 1, Construction Techniques
(3 hours 6:30 to 9:30 pm)
Cost $60.00 materials and GST included
Programmed in the same way as the Cedar Strip course with the focus on plywood and epoxy construction. This course will cover methods and the basic and intricate steps specific to this style of construction.
Stitch & Glue - Part 2, Finishing Materials

Similar to the Cedar Strip course, the Frame & Plank course covers methods and steps specific to this style of construction.
